Helllloooo world! So I was hoping that I could, myself, guest post on someone’s website. To give you a little preview it’s about me recently reading my first ever (actual) comic and what I thought about it. It’ll be like a book review, but I thought the idea of my first ever comic was special. Therefore, I was thinking of writing of that experience and the comic itself as a guest post on someone’s blog. However, if no one answers, then I guess it’ll be up on my blog as a regular post. Let me know below if you’d be up for a guest post, comment below or contact me on my blog’s Contact Me page. Thanks! Have a great day/night and tata for now!
Hello everyone! So it is March which is three months from December which is when Avid Reader last had Guest Blogging Week. Now, before I get into anything I’ll have you know, honestly, that last GBW wasn’t as awesome as the previous one. *gasp* Why? you ask. Well, there was few people who signed up and for those who did sign up, only some followed through on their commitment (though one person did have a viable reason for backing out). Therefore, let this coming one be awesome!!
Now for those who have no idea what I’m talking about let me tell you:
I’m looking for 5-7 guest bloggers who could be awesome enough to guest blog on my website Avid Reader. Now you could be an author/writer guest blogging about tips for writers and about your blog, or you could be anyone who wants to talk about some new book product, who wants to review a book …etc… Any bloggers or writers who are interested in participating may comment below their name, email address and an initial idea of what you want to guest blog or you can send me a request to be a guest blogger on the contact form (it’s on the Contact Me page), message me on Facebook, Goodreads, Tumblr or DM me on Twitter. All contact ways must include your name, email address, website or blog if you have one and an initial idea of what you want to guest blog or else you won’t be considered. Either way we want 5-7 bloggers to join! Please have your requests in by next Saturday, March 14, 2015 ! Please! The posts will probably be up three weeks after that so that I have three days to finalize requests and then the posts will one week later so you guys have time to write your piece and send it to me. For more information on how the process works/will work and what types of things are okay to request, then click here. Note: anything you guys write about has to be appropriate (see my Policies page) and also anything you want to blog about that is different than what is stated up there can be discussed within reason. Thanks again!
That’s all! I know it’s a lot but it is definitely worth it: you meet new people and gain more exposure, not to mention it’s tons of fun. So sign up now! Have a great day/night, thanks and tata for now!
Hey everyone! So as many of you know, the staff of LBSquared created a little blog called Writer’s Guild: by LBSquared as a way for authors, poets, and anyone involved in the art of writing to come together and discuss our companionship with the words. We criticize each other, give each other advice, help get published, and above all, learn to enjoy writing.
So far though we’ve had a tinsy winsy problem: NO ONE GOES THERE ANYMORE! No one here writes on the blog nor looks at it anymore…it’s starting to feel very lonely. Therefore, as an effort to help this situation, I dubbed this week Writing Week. As of today, I will (and already did for today) post some new poems, tips, pieces of (a) story or whatever and I definitely want you to join in and do the same here. Why? Because it will get Writer’s Guild up and running again, therefore increasing visibility which leads to more followers, likes and comments for this blog and all the contributors/followers of this blog. Also, it gives you even more of a chance to put out your work and get it looked at (if you want it to be criticized…it doesn’t have to be!) If you want to be a part of this, give me holler below in the comment section and I’ll add you as an author and we can start writing.
Let’s get Writer’s Guild back up and running! It’s time we lived again!
Hey everyone, its Fantasy Angel here from Avid Reader! So it’s been awhile since anyone’s posted on here and it’s been even longer since anyone OTHER than me has posted on here so I’ve decided to start a series post where every week a blogger that can create posts on the blog, will create a What’s New with them post. You can go personal or you can go more technical and talk about your blog. Since I created this idea, I will start this. But next week, will be someone elses turn and that turn can be decided between everyone else. If you want to be part of this, comment on here with your email (you can only do this though if you’re a WordPress blogger…sorry…) and then I’ll add you to the list of people who can make posts and then you can make one yourself. Sound good? Okay here I go:
- So since Guest Blogging (Week) is done (quite prematurely), I’m doing another Guest Blogging Week even sooner than three months due to the lack of posts – though the people who did do it, did it very well and I thank them from the bottom of my heart – during Winter Break. The week was done due to one reason that stem from several things; we are out of bloggers’ guest posts. Now this is due to some pulling out for with a legit reason, and for people who just didn’t tell me they weren’t going to do it or they didn’t send it to me and expected me to somehow know they weren’t part of the event any more. Now what’s happening is that by this Friday, you guys can contact me and tell me you want to do it and initial idea. Then, by Dec 23, you will send me your post via a Google Drive Doc I’ve created for everyone. Just a reminder, when you contact me, include your name, email, and initial idea.
- I also have created a Holiday Post that I know will help you guys de-stress and relax. Don’t believe me? Check out the post: My Top 5 (Book) Blogger Tricks & Tips (aka the perfect way to de-stress)
- I have now added falling snow to Avid Reader! If you guys want to add the feature to your blog too, just go to Settings, scroll down and then check the box that says “Show falling snow on my blog until January 4th“.
- I OFFICIALLY HAVE 200WORDPRESS FOLLOWERS! I also (amazingly) have:
- 499 Email Followers (hey one of you follow the blog via email to raise it to 500! Let’s make it an even number!)
- 32 Facebook Followers (follow Avid Reader’s Facebook Page for exclusive Facebook content like giveaways and announcements from popular authors!)
- 247 Twitter Followers (follow us for exclusive contests, news, giveaways and more!)
- 21 Tumblr Followers (If you are on Tumblr more than you see others but still want book, movie, writing, and blogging news then follow our Tumblr!)
- 32 Goodreads Friends (follow me if you want to be friends with someone whose friends with awesome authors! and if you want to know what books I read…that too….)
Therefore thank you! I do appreciate your follows, likes, comments, re-tweets and faves.
And that’s all that’s new for me! I can’t wait to see everyone else’s “What’s New” post. Don’t forget to check above to get the details about it and the details about my upcoming Guest Blogging Week! Thanks, have a great day/night and tata for now!
Hello peoples! I just wanted to make a little announcement for those participating in Guest Blogging Week:
YOUR GUEST POSTS ARE DUE TODAY! Also check your emails…..Thanks. Have a nice day/night and tata for now!
Hello everyone! This is a mix of two important PSAs:
I have a bit of a surprise: I have created a badge for those who take part in Writing Wednesday which is on the right. What do you guys think of it? It’s on the sidebar of my website, if you want to also put it on your websites/blogs.
Also: To do your posts on the Google Doc I shared with you if you are a GUEST BLOGGER!
That’s it. Thanks, have a great day/night and tata for now!
Hello everyone! It’s Fantasy Angel from Avid Reader again! This is a reminder to you guys that today is your last day to get your guest blogging stuff in!!! So far, I only have 4 guest bloggers and I would absolutely love more so please contact me today or tomorrow! All you need to do is tell me you are in, your email address and a simple initial idea (you can be elaborate or really simple – not a one worded answer though pls). Then I’ll add you guys to a Google Doc where all the guest bloggers will be so that you guys can interact, I can interact with you and you can put up your posts. It’ll truly be alot of fun and pretty awesome so sign up! It will take me about two days to finalize everything (ideas, who’s in, etc.) then I’ll make an announcement on the blog who will be participating. I want 5-7 bloggers to be part of this. If you want more information, you can look at the blog post (http://wp.me/p4dh4j-Dc) or you can look at the general rules for the last guest blogging week. That’s it. I realllly hope you guys sign up because last time was so much fun and I want to keep doing the week and having fun. Thank you guys! Have a great day/night and tata for now!
Hey everyone! Don’t forget that tomorrow is Writing Wednesday! Check below for more information:
Writing Wednesdays is starting back up by the more or less suggestion by J Matik from A Boisterous Life and the revived want of moi. Now for those who didn’t part take in it before or who don’t even know what’ll be happening here is a more or less description from before:
“Seeing as how we are all probably writers or aspiring writers dying to finish the book they’re writing or write a new poem, I’m thinking we could all do a mass thing called Writing Wednesdays where every Wednesday we share a piece of writing on this blog and on our own blogs. It’ll be a mass event we all do! and it’ll be fun! Plus on here you could get criticisms, though how “critical” (like how harsh) can be decided by you per post if you wish. So what do you guys think?”
So I am in a bit of slump right now; I don’t get comments. Not really. Now that’s not that bad of a thing in retrospect (ok it kinda is) but when I ask important questions that affect my blog post scheduling and no one answers I don’t know what to do. This applies a lot to when I ask surveys but it also applies to my Top Ten Tuesdays and especially to my post a couple of days ago about book reviews. I know I don’t have alot alot of followers right now but I was wondering, what am I doing wrong? Why is this happening and can you please help me in both answering these questions and the one from the “couple of days ago post“; I really need answers for that last one b/c that greatly affects my blog and scheduling. Thank you very much. I really do appreciate your help.
